BITEG – the International Food and Wine Tourism Exchange – the most important Italian event dedicated to the sector, will be held in Canale d’Alba (CN), from November 10th to 14th, 2016. The B2B workshop will take place at Malabaila Castle, in the heart of Roero, a hilly area well known for its culinary treasures, among which Roero Arneis wine and the celebrated white truffle.
More than 100 sellers from whole Italy – incoming agencies, cooperatives, product clubs, hotel chains and small luxury hotels specialized in the sale of food and wine tourist packages – will meet over 40 highly selected European operators coming from Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Benelux, UK and Scandinavian countries, with a special focus on the USA market.
The 2016 BITEG edition will showcase the trends of the Italian gastronomy tourism, in order to work out in tourism terms values of the Piedmontese and Italian food and wine sector: tradition, creativity and innovation as ambassador of the Made-in-Italy products worldwide.
The trends that will shape the Italian food and wine tourism will be introduced by the most representative Italian agri-food companies and by the Regions, which will be involved in special moments dedicated to the trendy innovation.
The brand was acquired in 2008 by the Region of Piedmont through its in-house provider Sviluppo Piemonte Turismo s.r.l. and since 2016 planning, design, management, achievement and monitoring of BITEG have been committed to OLOS GROUP Srl.
BITEG 2016 will launch a new formula that promotes Italy around the world, communicating the best Italian food and wine tourism products through the experience tours as the key element of trendy tourism products.

Among the new aspects of the 2016 BITEG edition is “Nice To Meet You”, the marketplace platform bringing sellers and buyers together online to do business or workshop 365 days a year, as well as the new exhibition area with the main Piedmontese and Italian food and wine products.
The event is organized in collaboration with the Ente Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d’Alba (Association of the International Fair of the Alba White Truffle), which will host the gala dinner.
The program includes a two-day B2B workshop – on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 November – with a meetings formula involving Italian regions, influential people in the tourism sector, niche producers and CEO of agri-food companies with a well-known reputation in the international market.

2 convivial evenings – on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 November – will be the best opportunity to taste the food and wine excellence of the host Regions and the Roero.
BITEG will allow buyers, sellers and journalists to discover unusual products and landscapes as well as the products trends, with a focus on wine, in order to offer tourist the most innovative travel experiences and proposals.
