About us

BITEG – the International Food and Wine Tourism Exchange – is the most important national communication, promotion and sales event for wine and food tourism products.  After eight editions in Riva del Garda, in Trentino, the brand was acquired in 2008 by the Region of Piedmont with the aim of developing and promoting internationally well-known Italian and Piedmontese resources, together with the associated outstanding wine, food and tourist products.

Since 2016 planning, design, management, achievement and monitoring of BITEG have been committed to OLOS GROUP Srl, selected through public announcement.

The 17th edition of BITEG held in Piedmont, November 10th to 14th, 2016 at Malabaila Castle in Canale d’Alba (CN), ‘capital city’ of Roero, a hilly area well known for its culinary treasures, among which Roero Arneis wine and the celebrated white truffle.

BITEG addresses sector operators through a “B2B” meeting formula and each year involves over 100 national sellers specialised in the sale of food and wine tour packages,  and 40 carefully selected international operators. Together with a two-day intensive and direct business workshop, the event includes press and educational tours through the region of Piedmont for journalists from the sector and national and international buyers, as well as evenings and events dedicated to the top Piedmontese and Italian food and wine products. The “Piedmontese” editions of BITEG were held in Fontanafredda – Serralunga d’Alba in 2008 and 2009, in Cantine Contratto in Canelli, in the province of Asti, in 2010,  in the Bosco Marengo monumental complex, in the province of Alessandria, in 2011, the Teatro Regio of Turin in 2012, Monforte d’Alba in 2013, Novara in 2014, and Distric Lake in 2015.

BITEG is also a website, blog and social media platform, with the aim of developing tools for communication between buyers, sellers and the media and creating an interactive showcase for opinion leaders and connoisseurs interested in Piedmontese and Italian food and wine tourism products that can be viewed throughout the year.
