Mineral and thermal waters

Piedmont, located at the foot of the Alps, is a region naturally rich in water. Of the 272 mineral water labels on the national market, 27 are Piedmontese, with 36 recognised brands and 14 bottling plants located in the province. This is further corroborated by the 10 spa centres grouped in four Thermal Water resorts in the province of Alessandria, Agliano Terme in the province of Asti Astigiano; Garessio, Lurisia, Valdieri and Vinadio in the province of Cuneo; and Bognanco, Premia, Vanzone Con San Carlo and Crodo in Verbano Cusio Ossola. Piedmontese mineral waters, almost all of which are of Alpine origin, are renowned on a national level for their great lightness and purity, given the unspoiled environments from which they originate and the granitic rock at their source; some of them have a wider local distribution, while others have had success beyond the borders of Piedmont and occupy leading positions on the national and international markets. This resource also means that Piedmont is well endowed with spa centres, where traditional curative treatments can be found alongside modern wellness centres, amplifying the region’s tourism offer.
